Parenting consulting provides co-parents a safe and neutral place to present their disputes and work toward resolution. A formulated process is used by the parenting consultant (PC) to help parents resolve conflict that is cost effective and efficient. Once the parents agree to use a PC, she is appointed by a judge and given authority to make legally-binding decisions.
The PC meets with each parent to get to know him/her, understand his/her “side of the story,” and learn about any issues that need resolving. The PC will attempt to facilitate agreement between the parents on these issues and, if agreement cannot be reached, will ensure she accurately understands each parent’s position before issuing a legally-binding written decision.
